Rose played again for England she Had such a great weekend with these girls. Such a great team. Welldone winning 1-0 against Ireland. Rose Can't wait till Wales gunna be amazing. Well done Rose hard work pays.

!! Kayla attends another England camp !!

Hi Everyone 

Kayla Randell attended an England camp last weekend. I asked her to send a little report & hear it is.  It was a great experience and trained with a great bunch of girls who were very passionate about football, we had 4 training sesssions and all 4 sessions were specific goalkeeper training which was amazing. The goalkeeper coach was Keith Reece. He was really good to have as a coach. He trained us and explained things that made us feel confident about ourselves. He told us what we need to improve on and told us how to do it! The facilities at Warwick university were amazing and couldn't of asked for a better time there! Thankyou to everyone at bts who has got me to where I am today!

Well done Kayla excellent achievement.

!! An afternoon with Tony Elliot England Futsal gk Coach !!

On Wednesday 26th Feb we had the pleasure of watching Tony Elliot deliver some Futsal session to the A F C Bournemouth goalkeepers at Leaf Academy Futsal arena. Tony worked mainly on the block technique with some interesting ideas. He used balloons, tennis balls, bibs and squash balls. During the session. There are definitely thing which can transfer only to the 11 aside game. I really enjoyed watching Tony deliver the session a great coach. Futsal is growing quickly in the UK and Tony has helped that growth in the roles and responsibilities of a Futsal GK. Below are some photos of the afternoon. I would like to thank Tony, Mossy, Steve and AFC Bournemouth for allowing me to attend.

!! Training returns at BTS this week after Xmas break !!

Hi Everyone 

Just a quick reminder that Between the Sticks returns back training this week. Monday 4th January & Friday 8th January. Looking forward to getting back into goalkeeping again since the Christmas break. All the BTS team are looking forward to coaching you all in 2016.

!! Goalkeeping Coaching Award Level 1 in March 2016 !!

Dorset FA are running a goalkeeping Coaching Award level 1 in March which Robbie is tutoring. It's a good technical course for the first run on the ladder to Gk coaching. If you would like more information contact Jemma Tewkesbury  on 01202 20688279 at Dorset FA. Some information below of the course content.    

The course is over 3 days. 

Saturday 12th March

Sunday 13th March

Sunday 20th March

The course is being held at Dorchester Sports Centre on the 3G. 

• Minimum Age: 16
• Course Duration: Minimum of 18 hours 
• Course Prerequisites: In date FA Emergency Aid Certificate and In date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
• Who is it for: This course is open to all coaches who are interested in goalkeeping and wish to enhance their knowledge of a number of goalkeeping techniques.
• Course aims and objectives: This FA Goalkeeping Award will provide candidates with the ability to organise and develop the key aspects related to basic individual techniques. It will provide the candidate with clear guidance on the preparation and planning required to progress the technical practices in a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Leading to: The FA Goalkeeping Coaching Certificate (Level 2)

Course Content: 

The practical elements of the course will provide candidates with the following elements:

• Specific goalkeeping warm ups and cool downs
• Coaching basic individual techniques including footwork, the set position, handling techniques, diving saves (catching/deflecting/parrying), dealing 1 v1 situations and crosses
• Understanding how to develop and improve the Goalkeepers' technique
• Planning and preparing progressive technical practices
• Maintaining the health and safety of the players and other coaches
• Maintaining the high standards of conduct to promote Association Football

!! Christmas present for all Gks attending this coming week 14th & 18th !!!

Hi Everyone

With Christmas just around the corner & Monday 14th & Friday 18th December being our last sessions before Christmas. Every goalkeeper who attends the sessions on these dates will receive a Christmas present from BTS. Only one gift per GK per week. All Gks must wear a Santa hat or a fun hat!!!! 

We return back coaching Monday 4th & Friday 8th January 2016. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Goalkeepers, parents & friends of Between the Sticks for your support over the year. Have a great Christmas & a fantastic new year.
