As you may know Between The Sticks has had a long affiliation with AFC Bournemouth our local professional football club.
Going back over 10 years Robbie and Martin ran the goalkeeping section of the clubs Centre of Excellence whilst Mossy and Gaz were the 2 senior goalkeepers playing in the 1st team.
In 2006 Mossy started helping Robbie with the Centre keepers and this was when the idea of BTS started to emerge.
We still currently coach the young Bournemouth keepers on a Monday night with our own Dave Walsh who is head of goalkeeping for all keepers 16 and under.
Mossy has also just completed his 4th season as Bournemouths 1st team goalkeeper coach.
So it was obviously very pleasing to see our local club get promoted to the Championship for only the 2nd time in their history and we hope to continue our strong ties with the club for many years to come.
